Church Restoration

It was originally built in 1856 as a wood frame church, and upgraded in 1908 with brick veneer and stained glass windows.
It must have been meant-to-be finding this gothic building, as covid was locking everything down, and at the time I was traveling in a van across the country and needed somewhere to park for a while. That while would turn into modern day, as I learned more about its history and the processes of restoring a building of that age and style. New interest unlocked. It wasn't one I dreamed up as a youngin' but one that felt right in my heart. Ripping out 70s carpet to reveal original wood floors became a gift I didn't know I wanted, and as I removed layers of modern to find its beauty hidden underneath, I was hooked. It's not easy to be the guardian of a piece of history, and the work requires more than sweat and tears.
The plan is to one day hear songs played or poems spoken, or jugglers juggling from its stage by passing artists- with a virtual window via a livestream to share with anyone who wants to peek in. And even deeper, an analog studio to record with the warmth of tape "like in the old days."
Buying a shirt or throwing a few bucks helps to bring this project to life. It's never expected, and always appreciated. 🤘✨️
